A couple nights ago my roomate and I lost all power in our apartment. First we frantically searched for candles and a match ( who knows were the flashlights were).
The only light we had was our gas fireplace and a few small candles. Then it started to get cold in the apartment so we tried to turn up the heat, but duh it only comes on with power. Then we thought, "Oh we could turn on the oven and it will get warm." Well that requires power too!
So we grabbed our blankets and pillows and pushed the couches as close as we could to the gas fireplace (any closer and we could have burned them) We stayed pretty warm and later that night the lights came on when we were not expecting it. We were so tired we stayed in our living room till morning.
What have you done when the power has gone out in your house?
